Our home. Your engineering team.
Complex angles, pockets and related faces need a process planned around the part. Our Peterborough team reviews geometry, material and critical interfaces before recommending the machining route.

Peterborough · Engineering support
For a Peterborough project with angled ports, deep pockets or related faces, send the CAD model and drawing together. Our engineers review access, workholding and the features that need to remain accurate relative to one another before planning manufacture.
If the job starts with a worn sample instead of CAD, reverse engineering establishes the geometry and working requirements first. The machining approach then follows the agreed replacement design and inspection brief.
Reverse Engineering in Peterborough →A generic job shop makes what is on the drawing. An overseas quote looks cheap until you count the lead time, the freight and the cost of a part that comes back not quite right. MV is built for the harder problem: no drawing, a part that has failed for a reason no one has diagnosed, and a machine that cannot wait.

We measure the part itself and diagnose why it failed, then improve the design where the original was the weak point.
You deal directly with our engineering team, with one point of contact to keep the work clear and coordinated.
Our engineers choose the manufacturing route around the geometry, material, quantity and working requirements of your part.
One engineering team takes your part from the moment it lands with us to the moment it ships. You deal with the people doing the work, not a sales desk, and reverse engineering sits at the centre of every step.
Send the part, a sample or a drawing. Even a photograph and a note on what failed gives us enough to start. No drawings or CAD, no problem, the part is the brief.

We measure it precisely and rebuild it in CAD, check the material, then work out why it failed and where the original design can be improved.

We machine, mould, cast or fabricate to the corrected spec, choosing the right process for the part and inspecting it as we go.

A finished, inspected part arrives ready to fit, on time or early, with the measurements and documentation to back it up.

Most parts that come through MV start as a problem rather than a drawing. We take the work from first measurement to finished, inspected component, and we choose the process to suit the part rather than forcing the part to suit one machine. Reverse engineering leads everything we do. The rest of our capabilities exist to make whatever that work demands.
Getting the part made is one thing. What brings engineers back is how the part performs, where it is made and whether it arrives when we said it would.

Where the original carried a weak point, we design it out. The replacement is built to run longer than the original.

UK-based, so lead times, communication and accountability stay close to home.

Over 100,000 parts delivered, on time or early every time, an average of 1.5 days ahead.

Ask an engineer →MV Manufacturing Solutions is based at Unit 3, Belgic Square, Padholme Rd E, Peterborough PE1 5XF. Contact the team before travelling so we can agree how to receive your part and what information to bring.
Five-axis machining can improve access to angled faces and complex surfaces. Whether it is the right route depends on geometry, material, workholding, quantity and inspection requirements. Our engineers assess those factors rather than assuming every complex-looking part needs the same machine.
Send clear photographs, the quantity required, your preferred delivery date and a short explanation of the application. Include any CAD files, drawings, part numbers or surviving specifications. If the part has failed, describe what happened and whether you have a mating component available.
Contact us before sending a physical part. We will confirm the receiving details and discuss suitable handling for its size and condition. Include your contact details and a reference to the enquiry. Large, fragile or unusually heavy components need arrangements agreed individually.
We can review opportunities to improve material, geometry or manufacture as part of the engineering work. A change must be considered against fit, function and the wider assembly. We agree the proposed specification with you before making a replacement, rather than silently changing the original design.
If a production machine is waiting on an obsolete shaft or housing, start with photographs and a description of the failure. We establish what can be recovered from the sample and what must be checked against its mating parts. Add photographs that show the part in context, together with any known dimensions, operating conditions and restrictions on the replacement.
Reverse engineering can establish the manufacturing definition from a sample and the application requirements. We review critical interfaces and any proposed changes before choosing the machining strategy. A photograph alone will not establish precise dimensions or material grade.
We review both individual replacement parts and requirements for repeat manufacture. The cost and suitable process depend on the work involved. A first article or prototype may be useful before a larger order, with the approval criteria agreed in advance.
We confirm timing for the specific job after reviewing the sample or design, material availability, manufacturing route and inspection requirements. Tell us about a shutdown or required installation date at enquiry stage. Transport arrangements and any staged deliveries are agreed as part of the job.
Specify the critical dimensions, material records and inspection information you require when asking for a quote. We agree which checks and documents form part of the order. Where the work needs a particular standard or certification, that requirement must be reviewed before acceptance.
