Join our precision engineering team in Peterborough. Reverse engineering leads our work, supported by manufacturing and inspection. If you are curious about how parts work and want to learn how to make them better, explore our Apprentice Engineer role.

MV Manufacturing is a precision engineering business based in Peterborough. Our team takes worn, failed or obsolete components from assessment and CAD reconstruction through to manufacturing and inspection. Reverse engineering sits at the centre of that work. We understand what went wrong, agree how the design can improve and make a replacement that is better than the original.
You move across CNC machining, inspection and reverse engineering rather than repeating the same job every day. The work stays interesting and your skills keep widening.
Learn from experienced colleagues who explain the reasoning behind each decision. From understanding a drawing to checking a finished part, careful work and clear standards guide the team.
Your contribution matters. As your skills develop, you take on more responsibility with support from the team and see how each task contributes to the finished part.
We are building a precision workshop in Peterborough. Joining now means helping shape how the team works as it grows.

Start your engineering career with our Peterborough team. As an Apprentice Engineer, you will learn how we reverse engineer parts, interpret drawings and support manufacturing and inspection. You will develop practical skills with guidance from experienced colleagues, building your understanding of how a component works and what makes it fit for use.
Learn to interpret drawings, CAD models and physical samples with the team, starting with what the finished component needs to do.
Learn how the team prepares tooling, sets up machining jobs and checks the process. Build practical skills under supervision as your experience develops.
Learn how dimensions and surface finish are checked against a specification, and why accurate inspection records matter.
Support the team as we assess worn or obsolete parts, rebuild their geometry and work towards replacements that are better than the original.
You do not need to arrive as an experienced machinist. We look for curiosity about how things work, care with practical tasks and a willingness to learn. You should be comfortable asking questions, following instructions and working with others. Tell us about any engineering study, practical projects or relevant experience, and what you would like to develop.
Contact our team about the Apprentice Engineer role. Tell us about your studies, practical interests and any experience, and why you want to start a career in engineering. We will explain the next steps and how to send your CV.

If it looks like a fit, you will talk with Miguel and the team. We want to understand how you think about parts, process and quality.

We show you real parts and how MV actually works, from a drawing or sample through to a finished, inspected component. You get a clear picture of the day to day.

If it is right on both sides, we make an offer and agree a start date. From there you join the team and get stuck into live work.
